Ralph and Lisa

Bevis Marks, London's East End, 2000

My very own wedding day. Walking down the aisle to Ralph, I felt like I was flying. The weight of a ritual, thousands of years old, was weightless! My friend Tiu told me afterwards that it seemed to her in that moment, that I was like one of Chagall’s flying brides.

Originally I placed our figures flying above Bevis Marks candlelit chandeliers, images below. But our more recent flight path is over London and the Thames (where we had our celebration), as that felt more true to our London love affair.
